Health of Pope Francis's, who is still undergoing treatment at Rome's Gemelli hospital, is critical; however, since Saturday, February 22, he has not experienced any respiratory issues, reports the Italian agency Ansa, citing the Holy See's press office. The Vatican noted that some of the pontiff's blood tests indicate early mild kidney failure.

The press service states that overall, Pope Francis's condition remains “under control”; the breathing issues resulting from an asthmatic attack yesterday have resolved, although he still receives oxygen. “Another report on the health of the 88-year-old pope states, ‘The Pope is aware, but the outlook continues to be cautious.’”

Earlier, it was observed that Pope Francis attended a Mass for the medical personnel who look after him in the hospital.

The 88-year-old Pope was admitted to the hospital last week, where he was found to have bilateral pneumonia. On February 19, Swiss Blick announced that the guards of Pope Francis have started practicing for his funeral.
