Uber's net loss grows 18.4 times in 2022

According to Uber Technologies Inc.'s financial reports, the company's net loss attributable to shareholders for 2022 climbed 18.4 times from the value for 2021 to $9.141 billion.

Following a loss of $0.26 the previous year, the diluted loss per share was $4.64. In contrast, revenue increased 1.8 times to $31.877 billion.

In the fourth quarter, the parent company's net income was $595 million, a 33% decrease from the prior year. Compared to $0.44 a year earlier, diluted earnings per share were $0.29. Analysts expected $8.51 billion in revenue for the three months, but it increased by a factor of 1.5, to $8.607 billion.

At the conclusion of the quarter, the company’s primary industry, taxis, saw a 1.8-fold increase in revenue to $4.136 billion. Sales for Uber Eats increased 21% year over year to $2.931 billion. During the quarter, there were 131 million monthly active platform users, an 11% year-over-year growth.
