Tesla cuts Q2 deliveries by almost 5%, but result exceeds forecasts

Deliveries of the US electric car manufacturer Tesla Inc. decreased in the second quarter, but the quarter results exceeded market expectations.

The firm reported that it delivered 443,956 electric cars to the market in the most recent quarter, which is 4.7% fewer than it did a year earlier.

FactSet’s survey of experts estimated that Tesla would deliver 436 thousand vehicles on average.

422,405 units of the budget versions Model 3 and Model Y were delivered, with 21,551 units of the remaining variants.

From April to June, Tesla produced 410,831 vehicles, a 14.3% decrease from the same period last year.

The business will make available its complete set of financial statements for the second quarter on July 23.
