Subaru carmaker will recall about 100,000 vehicles in Japan to test the braking system, according to the Nikkei Asian Review. The automaker found out that the cars did not pass the required security check. Presumably, this was the fault of the concern’s employees.

Among the recalled models is Impreza sedan. The publication clarifies that Subaru cars abroad will not fall under the recall. The cost of verification is estimated at 6.5 billion yen ($ 57 million).

On the background of news about the upcoming withdrawal of shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Subaru fell by 5%. Subaru also predict that the cost of the recall machines will be about a quarter of the projected annual profit group.

In June, Subaru President Yasuyuki Yoshinaga resigned due to a scandal over falsifying fuel consumption data. In May, the automaker acknowledged the falsification of fuel consumption data for 903 cars produced. The company explained that in some cases the passport values were worse than in reality.
