Societe Generale and Brookfield to create €10B direct lending fund

According to a statement from the bank, French bank Societe Generale and the Canadian investment firm Brookfield Asset Management will put €10 billion into a direct lending fund.

The fund will start off with €2.5 billion as seed money, and over the course of four years, it will grow to a total of €10 billion.

In addition to the financial sector, the fund will concentrate on the data, renewable energy, and transportation industries.

According to the press release, the new structure will enable issuers to acquire financing with specified conditions and will offer investors, such as insurance companies with certain rating and duration requirements, high-quality investment options in investment grade business liabilities.
