According to Reuters, British-Dutch Shell announced leaving the retail energy markets in Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands due to low revenues.
Following Wael Sawan's appointment as CEO, Shell began a strategic evaluation of its European retail business in January, citing challenging market conditions, the agency reported.
"The review is over, and as a result, we plan to stop operating that business. The sales process has already started, and in the upcoming months, we hope to establish agreements with prospective buyers," the firm stated.
