On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Nissan Motor Co. of Japan along with Renault SA of France revealed their alliance in the light of a “new board structure” whereby the Chairman of Renault will also be serving as a director in Nissan.
In fact, Mitsubishi Motors is also part of this alliance, as the three gave out an affirmation on their “alliance agreement”. It reported that the said arrangement was “still effect” as it would be strengthening “their cooperation”.
As per Reuters report, most likely Renault’s chairman will be stepping into the post of a “vice chairman” in Nissan, as an attempt to avoid power concentration “under Carlos Ghosn”, the ex-chief executive officer of France’s Renault.
