The Libaude collection, the focus of a "spotlight" in the Gazette of May 7, saw works by Odilon Redon (1814-1916) achieve the heights, as expected. They included this Grappe ou Marchand de ballons (The Cluster or The Balloon Seller), an utterly magnetic charcoal drawing that draws the gaze into a distant limbo. The balloons were released at €317,500, while Le Prophète (The Prophet: 54 x 46 cm/21.3 x 18.1 in) painted on canvas realized €205,000. Read more
