It was a 9.6% increase over the same period last year.

The Financial Times notes that this demonstrates how American consumers are resilient in the face of rising interest rates and significant inflation.

According to Barron's, American online spending peaked at 15.7 million per minute between 10 and 11 a.m. local time.

Adobe adds that discounts in a few categories reached all-time highs this year, including 31% on electronics compared to 25% in 2022. The most popular products were smart watches, headphones, Lego construction sets, Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, and Sony PlayStation 5.
