The latest sanctions mirror the actions the EU imposed on Belarus on June 29, 2024. The sanctions are broad and impact various parts of the Belarusian economy, such as trade, services, and transportation, as stated.
The new sanctions will stop the evasion of sanctions against Russia, among other things. The Foreign Ministry specified that certain sanctions against Russia also apply to Belarus.
Norway enforces penalties on Belarus for backing Russia's actions in Ukraine.
