Nissan plans to stop selling non-electric cars in Europe by 2030

According to the Financial Times, Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor Co. plans to totally stop selling non-electric automobiles in Europe by 2030 and replace them with electric and hybrid vehicles.

In addition, all new car models that are intended for sale in the area will only come with electric motors or electric motors paired with internal combustion engines.

Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida declared, "There is no turning back now," adding that the company feels this is the best course of action for its operations, its clients, and the environment as a whole.

The carmaker has previously set a goal of reaching 98% of European sales of electric and hybrid vehicles by April 2027.

Company raised its goals for producing eco-friendly vehicles this year, aiming to add 19 new models to its inventory by the year 2030.
