It is anticipated that the plant will have the capacity to generate 1 billion cubic feet (28 million cubic meters) of hydrogen daily, while also producing over 1 million tons of low-carbon ammonia annually, with a 98% CO2 removal rate.

The Japanese company stated that they anticipate making a definitive investment choice for the project in 2025, and operations are scheduled to commence in 2029.

Mitsubishi did not disclose specific information regarding the portion of the project it intends to buy.

The low-carbon ammonia produced by the ExxonMobil project will be utilized in a variety of industries such as energy, automotive, and chemicals, primarily in Japan's Shikoku and Chugoku regions.
