Sharp Corp of Japan is hopeful on teaming up with Japanese rival “Japan Display Inc”, whereby the partnership will explore the “organic light-emitting diode” displays.
The said partnership is an attempt to arrive at the equal ground with the “South Korean manufacturers”, reports the “Nikkei business daily”, on Monday, the 29th of August 2016. During an interview, on the same day, the Chief Executive Office of Sharp, Tai Jeng-wu, told the “Nikkei”:
"Let's gather all Japanese talents in liquid crystal displays, develop (the OLED technology) and jointly manage”.
By the year of 2018, Japan Display along with its partner Sharp has plans on releasing the mass production facility of “OLED panels” as they lag “far behind” from others like “Samsung Display”, the latter being “a unit of Samsung Electronics”.
