Traditionally, Google represents the main software development at the annual conference for I/O developers. For example, the company talks about updates in Android, but one of the main differences of the I/O 2019 conference was that for the first time in several years the company introduced new devices.

Google introduced Android Q in March 2019 for the first time. On I/O 2019, Google introduced the third beta version of Android Q, which will feature a seamless transition feature for folding phones.

Google has added support for a dark theme to the new Android Q operating system. This cosmetic trifle has become extremely popular in interfaces - such solutions exist in macOS, Windows 10, and in browsers. As expected, the dark theme will not only reduce eye strain, but also lower energy consumption. True, it is likely to be noticeable on devices with OLED-displays.

Security updates will now occur in the background, and installing them will not require an additional restart of the smartphone. This feature is not supported by all manufacturers, but Google is going to persuade developers to a simplified update delivery system, which is expected to help better protect Android Q devices.

Special attention in Android Q was given to privacy settings. To do this, the developers implemented a separate tab, where they collected all the functions related to confidentiality. Additionally, you can manually adjust the application's access to the location. If this happens, a notification symbol will appear on the screen. In general, there are more than 40 security updates and improvements.

The new OS will have the technology Live Caption, which will recognize what is said in any video or audio, in any application throughout the OS. At the same time, the neural network does not use Internet connection, which allows speeding up processing. This mode is useful for deaf or hearing impaired people.

Also, Android P and Android Q in 2019 will get the focus mode. This is an analogue of silent mode, in which, however, you can set important applications, and they will be allowed to disturb the user. In addition to the above, there is native support for 5G, folding devices, updating parental controls, gestures and much more.
