German consumer prices rise 2.5 per cent in June, as forecasted

German consumer prices, which are in line with EU regulations, rose 2.5% annually in June 2024 after increasing 2.8% the previous month, according to preliminary statistics released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) of the nation.

The consumer price index rose by 0.2% over the previous month.

In monthly terms, there was an increase of 0.2% in May.

On average, analysts projected an increase of 2.5% in terms of annual growth and 0.2% in terms of monthly growth.

June saw a 2.2% yearly increase in consumer prices, as determined by German norms. In May, they increased by 0.1%.

In terms of annual growth, experts predicted 2.3%, and in terms of monthly growth, 0.2%.
