The first new power plants will be sent to the American company Textron, which plans to create a new single-engine passenger plane.
The new range of advanced engines received a name ATP (Advanced Turboprop). It is planned to use the existing technology of small turboprop engines H80, also developed by General Electric. Nowadays, H80 is used on several types of aircraft.
The ATPs will include several power plants with a capacity of 1,300 to 2,000 horsepower. The engines will be created in the European center of advanced development of General Electric. According to the American company’s calculations, fuel consumption of the new engines will be 20 percent more efficient, and the power will grow by ten percent over modern installations comparable in size.
Compressor engine core will provide twice the compression ratio than proportionate power plants. In addition, the engine will receive electronic digital control system with full responsibility. It will be fully responsible for regulation of fuel injection, air supply, ignition and propeller pitch control.
According to Textron’s plans, the new single-engine passenger aircraft will carry up to 12 people. It will be able to operate at a distance of 3.9 thousand. km and reach speeds of about 520 km/h.
