The new system is going to be released by the year 2021, after which the transfer of Android-devices will begin. The transfer is expected to be completed by 2023.
Works on everything: from smartphones to ATMs
Fuchsia can potentially work on any device, from simple ones designed for one purpose (ATMs and GPS devices) right up to personal computers. Unlike Android, Fuchsia is not based on Linux, and is not built on any other software that underlies almost all personal computers and communications today. On the contrary, it is an attempt to develop an OS from scratch.
The new OS was created to overcome some of "inherent" limitations of Android: to facilitate voice control, to simplify regular security updates and to offer a universal user interface that would equally well adapt to a variety of devices, from laptops to tiny IoT devices.
New graphics engine
The Fuchsia graphic interface in the Material Design style is displayed using its own physically correct Escher render. At the moment Fuchsia offers two types: a new mobile-oriented design called Armadillo and more familiar to the desktop Capybara. Armadillo departs from the familiar icon model and menus with applications in the direction of combining recent applications, quick settings and your Google Feed. Capybara is still incomplete: only the taskbar is available, where you can see the time, the place for quick settings and something like the power button.
Voice Assistants
Artificial intelligence begins to play an increasing role, even in mobile gadgets. Therefore, the developers decided to expand this idea by introducing virtual or voice assistants into the new OS.
Now Google Assistant will take into account almost all the user's actions. The system will analyze all information to offer the most effective or prompt response. AI will gain access to everything: contacts, events, calendar, messages, location, programs and so on.
Cross-platform
As a rule, the problem is not only preservation of a single context, but also progress. Cloud service Ledger is expected to solve such difficulties. It's enough to enter your own Google account once, so that the programs on all devices will synchronize. For example, you open a specific browser on your laptop, and then continue to use it with the same tabs on your smartphone.

Applications for Fuchsia can be written in various popular programming languages, using Flutter, a solution for developing cross-platform mobile applications with a cute user interface.
Flutter allows writing applications with maximum compatibility between Fucshia, Android and iOS. This not only means that applications can be written on all three platforms with minimal investment, but also makes it easy to port existing applications to Fuchsia and support all three platforms.
