Tass Internation is a specialist of “self-driving software”, which would be bought over by Siemens, as the “German industrial group” has shown its consent, although the agreed amount has not been disclosed yet. However the aim of this acquisition is to “strengthen its automotive business”.
The software made by Tass simulates “complex traffic scenarios, validate autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems and replicate the impact of a car crash on a human body”. The company’s has around two hundred employees and generates a turnover of around “27 million euros” in a year. Jan Mrosik, the C.E.O of “Siemens’ Digital Factory” Unit, said:
“Tass International is a proven leader in both integrated safety and autonomous driving, two fields of engineering that are increasingly important for the industry”.
Siemens plans on combining the software of Tass with its “own advanced simulation products” and also with its “electronic design capabilities from recently acquired Mentor Graphics” which was bought for a value of “$4.5 billion” sometimes “earlier” in the year, whereby marking the “biggest industrial software acquisition”.
