Elon Musk's startup xAI revealed Grok, a language model (chatbot) tied to the social network X.
"Grok is an AI (artificial intelligence) that is modelled after the one from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it is designed to answer almost any question and can even advise itself on what questions to ask," xAI claimed.
According to xAI, Grok has real-time access to X's social network data, which gives it a "fundamental advantage" over other AI models that learn mostly from internet archives.
The model has a "rebellious streak" and will respond to questions "with a dash of wit," according to the company. Musk noted that Grok "loves sarcasm." Its personalities, xAI believes, will help it stand out from other AI.
