China's extensive military drills near Taiwan are escalating tensions between both sides of the strait. The tranquility and stability in the Taiwan Strait hold significant strategic value for both regional and global security and prosperity. "The EU is directly invested in maintaining the current situation in the Taiwan Strait," a statement released on Tuesday by the spokesperson for the European External Action Service (EEAS) indicated.

The document stated that the EU is against “any unilateral action that alters the status quo through force or coercion. We urge all parties to show restraint and refrain from any actions that might intensify tensions which ought to be addressed through dialogue between both sides of the strait.”

Previously, it was reported that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a significant military drill on Tuesday to rehearse different strategies and tactics for approaching Taiwan, as stated by Shi Yi, the spokesperson for the PLA combat command in the Eastern Zone.
