The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Thursday that Boeing chose to halt deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner passenger aircraft for an extra analysis of the fuselage.
"After informing the FAA that it was carrying out additional analysis on a fuselage component, Boeing briefly halted 787 Dreamliner deliveries. The agency is coordinating with Boeing in order to determine whether action may be needed for recently delivered aircraft," the regulator said in a statement.
Deliveries of this particular aircraft model to the market will not resume until the authorities are sure that the fuselage issue has been resolved.
