Bloomberg reported that Apple and OpenAI have reached an agreement to utilize the developer's ChatGPT technology on the iPhone, citing people with knowledge of the situation. The newspaper claims that ChatGPT functionalities may be included in Apple's next iOS 18, the operating system for iPhones.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is scheduled to unveil new AI features in June at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which may include ChatGPT. However, as the agency notes, it is unclear with certainty whether the deal will be made public soon.
The newspaper noted that Apple also had discussions with Google regarding the license of its language model Gemini in addition to talks with OpenAI, but the discussions ended without an agreement and are still going on. Google, Apple, and OpenAI representatives all declined to comment.
