Bankrupt Fisker to recall over 12.5 thousand electric cars

Fisker, an American electric vehicle manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy earlier in June, has voluntarily recalled over 12,500 vehicles in North America and Europe due to potential issues with external door handles, the company said in a statement.

8,200 Ocean flagship SUVs in the United States, 513 in Canada, and 3,800 in Europe are included in the recall for the 2023–2024 model year.

The manufacturer states that these cars' door handles "may jam due to a faulty mechanism."

More than 18,000 Ocean vehicles have already been recalled by Fisker since June. Of those, roughly 11,000 were recalled because of a potential engine power outage that could arise from the vehicle entering safety mode due to software issues, and an additional 7,000 were recalled because the dashboard's indicators and icons did not meet legal requirements.
