"With the COVID-19 safety regulations in place, it is impossible to use office space, especially in central London and similar places, with the intensity with which they were previously used. So in fact, it is impossible to immediately return (to the workplace) many people," he said, speaking to the Finance Committee in the UK Parliament.
"I don't think we can expect a large number of people to suddenly and abruptly return to the very dense office environment that we are used to. We should expect a more phased return depending on the public health data we see in the coming weeks and months." - he noted.
The UK government is expected to unveil a program to reactivate citizens in the workplace this week. Thus, the authorities intend to strengthen the pace of economic recovery and increase the profitability of public transport.
