Annual inflation in eurozone slows to 2.9 percent

Preliminary estimates indicate that annual inflation in the eurozone decreased from 4.3% in September to 2.9% in October, as per Eurostat data.

A DailyFX survey of analysts predicted that the percentage will drop to just 3.1 percent.

The eurozone saw 10.6% annual inflation exactly a year ago.

A preliminary estimate for October shows that consumer prices in the eurozone rose by 0.1%.

Concurrently, core annual inflation decreased from 4.5% to 4.2%, in line with analyst projections.

At the end of October, Slovakia reported the greatest annual inflation at 7.8%, followed by Croatia at 6.7%, Slovenia at 6.6%, and Italy at 1.9%. Belgium and the Netherlands recorded the lowest annual inflation, at 1.7% and 1%, respectively.
