The largest European aircraft manufacturing corporation Airbus published financial results of the second quarter and the first half of the year. According to Airbus CFO Guillaume Faury, “the results of the first half of the year mainly reflect the increase in production of the A320 family of aircraft and the transition to more efficient NEO aircraft, as well as the improved financial performance of the A350 aircraft.” Net income for the reporting period increased by 141% to € 1.197 billion compared to the same period in 2018.

Total revenue increased by 24% to € 30.9 billion. At the same time, among some areas, the largest increase in revenue from the aircraft production division was 30%, although the number of new orders for aircraft decreased by 57% (88 units were ordered), but the order book is all increased by 2% (7276 aircraft).

The company retained the forecasts for the year at the same level, planning to deliver 880-890 aircraft to customers by the end of 2019. Meanwhile, Airbus is expected to become the world's largest aircraft manufacturing company in the year against the background of the serious problems of its eternal rival Boeing due to problems with 737 MAX aircraft. Recall that Boeing last week reported on the largest quarterly loss in its history amid this crisis.
